Rebellion of Thought

I’ve noticed how easy it is to get swept up in noise. Most days, I feel like I’m standing in a flood of information, headlines, memes, opinions, and instead of gaining clarity, I feel scattered. The truth is, the world isn’t built for reflection anymore. It’s built for speed.

I’ve caught myself trading depth for belonging, repeating the lines my “group” says instead of asking my own questions. It feels safer that way, but it costs me something I don’t want to lose: my independence of thought.

The truth is, we’ve been trained for compliance, not inquiry. School taught us how to pass tests and follow instructions, but rarely how to wrestle with why. And when fear rises, when the world shakes, it’s tempting to outsource our thinking to anyone who sounds confident, even if they’re wrong.

But I don’t want to live like that. I want to slow down, to sit with complexity, to choose truth even when it isolates me. Maybe you want that too.

This isn’t a loud rebellion. It’s a quiet one. A rebellion of thought. A decision to think when thinking feels like the hardest thing to do.
