Distraction Comes Before Destruction

Distraction comes before destruction, that is the subtle tool of the devil.

He doesn’t start with chains,
he starts with noise.
He derails your mind from the Kingdom, pierces you with the sword of anxiety, pulls your thoughts away from prayer and then preys on your vulnerability.

He keeps you busy but never fruitful.
Occupied yet empty, moving, but going nowhere.

He strikes like a swarm of bees: small stings, relentless attacks, until peace is exhausted and focus bleeds out.

He attacks your trust in the Lord and tosses you around
like truth never mattered, like purpose was disposable.

He shows you the benefits of the world, not to bless you, but to slow the potential
God placed inside you.

He nudges your mind off track, so he can come like a thief in the night, not to steal what you don’t have, but what you haven’t guarded.

He causes you to slumber, so your steps grow slippery, so discernment dulls, so compromise feels harmless.

He offers momentary pleasure so you miss eternal treasure.

He lies to you daily so alignment feels optional and purpose feels distant.

He tempts you with sin, not always to make you fall, but to make you delay.

Because if he can distract the seed, he can destroy the harvest.
And if he can keep your eyes everywhere, you’ll never see
where God is leading you.
